A lazy Sunday

By

The Morning

I usually start my Sundays by getting up late (well, who doesn't?). No rush to get up and go to your same old boring desk job, the feeling is just awesome. Breakfast done, I look in the mirror, and ask myself "So? Another day older, and look at you, still shining bright!!" Yeah well, still there is a small corner at the depths of my heart that knows the shine of youth is fading away, and something must be done to enjoy it before it says goodbye forever. So I pull out my henna pack, and start thinking of the gorgeous hair I used to have when I was twelve. "That's alright," I say to myself. "Cheers to you my beautiful friend in the mirror, here comes grand hair rejuvenated", I humor myself, and set to work.

About 5-6 tablespoons of henna powder, mixed with a teaspoon of coffee powder, a few drops of lemon juice, and a teaspoon of mustard oil (you read that right, mustard oil, trust me, it works), and I begin my self-pamper. While the henna waves its magic wand over my hair strands, I mix a bowl of cut okra with minced onion, diced tomatoes, diced green chillies, salt, pepper, and turmeric powder, and delegate the task of cooking them to my oven.

Hot Chocolate

The Afternoon

The henna does a grand job in reviving the youth of not just my hair, but also my mood. I feel refreshed, as if I was high on weed or something (never did it folks, relax). Meanwhile, my appetite has lost control over those delicious smelling baked okras that I made for lunch. While Sunday strolls away, I suddenly get in the mood for some homemade dessert, so I lazily raid my fridge, and voila! There's that flavored unfinished soy milk and a nice smiling bottle of Hershey's chocolate syrup, both of them looking at me invitingly. I mix two tablespoons of the chocolate syrup and half a cup of the milk, and microwave it for a minute while humming a Cranberries tune. My Sunday just got artistic! Rest of the afternoon is for getting creative with my poster colors, painting brushes, and abstract thoughts dwelling all over my mind. With my cup of hot chocolate in one hand, and my painting brush in the other, I don't even care what the rest of the week would bring, because I just had the best Sunday ever!
